    WHAT IS AURICULOTHERAPY

Auriculotherapy, a key approach within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), views the ear as a comprehensive microsystem that mirrors the entire body. In TCM, it is believed that the ear's numerous points correspond directly to various organs and bodily systems. Remarkably, the ears contain the highest concentration of acupuncture points anywhere on the body, making them exceptionally responsive to therapeutic stimulation.

This consistent stimulation sends vital messages to the brain, signaling that particular organs or systems require support. In response, the brain releases beneficial chemicals, including endorphins, into the bloodstream. This physiological reaction helps to relax the nervous system, thereby aiding in the reduction of pain and discomfort and supporting the body's natural healing processes.

    WHAT IS ACUPRESSURE?

Acupressure is a manual therapy technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves applying pressure to specific points on the body, known as acupoints, to stimulate the flow of vital energy (Qi) and promote natural healing. Unlike acupuncture, acupressure is a needle-free method that utilizes fingers, thumbs, or other tools, making it an ideal practice for self-care in the comfort of your own home.

Research indicates that acupressure can contribute to well-being by releasing endorphins and reducing inflammation.

When combined with auriculotherapy, acupressure offers tremendous complementary benefits, enhancing the overall therapeutic effect.

Affordable and effective

In China, acupuncture is considered a regular and essential part of healthcare and is frequently integrated with Western medicine practices, with many individuals receiving treatments as often as 4-5 times a week. In contrast, in the West, this level of frequency is not feasible due to the high costs associated with treatments, typically ranging from $90 to $150 per session. This financial burden makes it difficult for many people to afford such services or find the necessary time to commit to them.

AcuKITS™ offers an affordable and easy way for patients and caregivers to stimulate acupuncture points without the need for a practitioner, empowering individuals to support their own healing.

FAQs

  • Ear seeds are a form of auriculotherapy, which is the stimulation of specific points of the ear to support physical and emotional health concerns. They are a needle-free form of acupuncture that have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. TCM teaches that the ear is a microsystem of the whole body, where certain points on the ear correspond to different organs or body parts.

Ear seeds also create continual, gentle pressure on nerve impulses in the ear which send messages to the brain that certain organs or systems need support. The brain will then send signals and chemicals to the rest of the body to support whatever ailments you’re experiencing, releasing endorphins into the bloodstream, relaxing the nervous system, and naturally soothing pain and discomfort.

  • Press tacks deliver a significantly stronger stimulation compared to standard ear seeds, making them a preferred choice for those seeking more intense and focused acupressure benefits. They are designed to ensure a deeper engagement with the auricular points, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

Press tacks should only be left in for a maximum of 3 days.

  • Clean ear thoroughly with facial cleanser or an alcohol swab - this removes natural oils, ensuring proper adhesion. Ensure the ear is dry before application.

    • Focus on one protocol and identify acupoints by referencing the ear maps in your ear seed kit. You will be applying the seeds to one ear only.

    • Using tweezers, carefully lift the edge of clear seed adhesive, hover over the desired area of application, and firmly press down with a finger to adhere.

    • Seeds may be stimulated a few times a day by gently massaging in a circular motion. Seeds may be worn for a maximum of 5 days and cannot be reused. Remove with tweezers or fingernails. You can apply a new set immediately.

    • If you are using press tacks, you do not need to stimulate the press tack, simply leave it in place for a maximum of 3 days.

    • Remove if there is any pain or discomfort.

    • You may shower with ear seed and press tacks

    LEARN MORE

  • Ear seeds are single-use only and can be worn up to 5 days depending on the area of the ear where they’ve been placed. Before application, we suggest cleaning the area thoroughly with an alcohol swab or facial cleanser and allowing to dry completely for maximum adhesion. When applying, avoid touching the sticky side of the ear seed as it will not adhere properly. After 5 days of wear, remove seeds with your fingers or tweezers and dispose.

You can reapply seeds or press tacks immediately after disinfecting skin with alcohol and allowing it to dry.

    LEARN MORE

  • Ear seeds are a non invasive treatment which is safe and effective. Since they don’t require the use of needles, there is low risk of infection or bleeding. It is also a great way to introduce the benefits of acupuncture to those with needle phobia.

Press tacks are tiny needles affixed to latex free medical tape. These are for a stronger stimulation and are not a great choice for children who do not like needles or frail elderly patients.
